GROUP COMMERCIAL MANAGER – LONDON/BATH – SALARY NEGOTIABLE

 

Our client is an independent group of companies providing geotechnical, geophysical, survey and metocean services around the world.  Since its inception in 2004, the group has expanded rapidly and has international offices in the UK, Belgium, Nigeria, Qatar and the UAE

 

THE ROLE

 

Through a strategic approach to market and business development, the Commercial Manager will significantly shape the development of the Company business strategy and focus on generating new contract opportunities, developing new business and driving growth plans.

 

Functional responsibilities include pricing strategies, establishing commercial processes, setting standard contractual terms and conditions, standardising proposal formats, subcontract management, prequalification/qualification processes, legislation and contract law and other offset requirements supporting tender and bid activity.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities will include:

 

·        Provide commercial input into strategic decision making and lead and develop commercial strategies in line with the Company’s business plan

·         Evaluate all major investments to ensure commercially sound in support of the business plan

·        Lead the development and submission of robust and successful proposals that secure new contracts and long term client relationships for the Company

·         Oversee every part of the bid process to develop strategies in order that the broadest knowledge base is used to comprehensively assess and meet Customer requirements and market constraints

·         Lead/participate in Customer negotiations in conjunction with and resulting from tender submission

·         Draft and negotiate contractual documents, assessing commercial risks and representing and protecting the company’s commercial interests so as to maximise profit.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

 

Educated to degree level or equivalent (preferred Business, Economic or Law) with an impressive commercial background, you will have substantial commercial experience working at a senior level within the Offshore Oil & Gas Sector (ideally marine survey) delivering strategy, driving growth and leading teams.  Commercially and financially astute you will have a solid understanding of contract law and finance coupled with strong technical underpinnings which will provide for an accomplished Commercial leader.
