Figures show Techconsult UK has defied recession!

Techconsult UK has defied talk of recession by posting its best-ever half-year figures, doubling its performance on the same period last year.

Techconsult UK, based in The Wilton Centre, near Redcar, recorded a turnover of £1.5m in the half year ending last month. Gross profit in the same period went up 60 per cent.

The figures mean that the company, which works in sectors including offshore, process and civil engineering, is on target to hit £2.5m to £3m turnover by the end of the year, up from its record £2m last year.

Steve Guest, managing director, said: “There has been a lot of talk of recession but some of the sectors in which we are working are buoyant and we are looking forward to the next few months with a renewed sense of confidence.

“This year has gone well for us and one of the reasons is that in difficult economic times, companies realise that they need the very best people to get them through.”

The Wilton Centre operation is part of the Norwegian based Techconsult Group, with offices in Bergen, Oslo and Stavanger, Norway.
